I have a wetland and a question.

Wetland management strategies vary depending on an individual’s use preference. These vary from absolute preservation to managing the area for specific goals, such as waterfowl hunting. OCC has staff capable of either offering management options based on unique scenarios or by connecting inquirers to appropriate experts. Please contact us with specific questions.

A good first step is to reach out to the Tulsa District of the Army Corps of Engineers to determine if the wetland is jurisdictional and if you need a permit.

Some wetlands have been impacted by past human disturbance and may be suitable for restoration or enhancement. Please contact us for help determining if a wetland habitat is suitable for restoration or enhancement.

Although creating wetland habitat is difficult, there may be options for some areas that have been impacted by human disturbance critically enough to completely destroy wetland habitats. Some of these areas may be restored by correcting hydrological connections. Please contact us with restoration questions.
